In recent years, polymer composites containing carbon nanostructures have attracted to researchers due to their specific properties; the thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties. In particular, graphene exhibits remarkably high electric conductivity, thermal conductivity, and mechanical stiffness. In this work, a graphene/polystyrene composite was prepared by a miniemulsion polymerization. By this method, we were able to produce the composite in a single step where monomers absorbed by graphene polymerized on the surface of graphene. For comparison, a graphene/polystyrene composite was prepared with different methods; simple blending method. Various properties were investigated. |
