Polyphosphazene was synthesized by the ring opening polymerization of phosphonitrilic chloride trimer with catalyst in pyrex tube 250℃ in vacuum. Polyethylene glycol units were modified to the side groups of polyphosphazene by the reaction of poly(dichlorophosphazene) and poly(ethylene glycol) mathacrylate. Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) having nano-sized cage structure was prepared by the hydrolysis and condensation reaction of (3-mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane. Finally, polyphosphazene containing poly(ethylene glycol) units was reacted with POSS-SH via UV-irradiation to make polyphosphazene having poly(ethylene glycol) and POSS units. In addition, we also discuss their unique characteristics and properties confirmed by 1H-NMR, FT-IR, TGA, DSC, SEM, EDX and XRD. |
