Highly valued chemical and polymer products based on soybean oil as a starting feedstock |
초록 |
Using natural feedstock as starting materials in industry makes the industrial processes economical and environmental friendly. Use of widely available soybean oil as feed stock for making polyols is advantageous than the classical way of preparation based on petroleum products. Epoxidation of soybean oil and its ring opening product using sodium azide has used for the click reaction with terminal alkynes producing 1,2,3-triazole based compounds having hydroxyl entities. This product will provide a multi-hydroxy initiator for the ring opening polymerization with propylene oxide and cyclohexene oxide giving the corresponding polyol. The polymerization reactions were studied at different conditions to understand the influence of reaction parameters in the microstructure and hence the property of the resulting polymer. |
