In this study, we demonstrate the cost-effective and simple method of fabricating close-packed microlens arrays with defect free and well controlled geometry. In particular, the general procedure mainly consists of two steps: holographic inscription and soft-imprint lithography. Holographic inscription allows one to create 2D periodic patterns only by single step irradiation of interfered beams without solvent process. In addition, obtained structural geometries of periodic pattern are easily controlled by manipulating wave vectors of incident beams. Soft-lithographic-enabled methods are also fascinating strategies for the fabrication of 2D periodic patterns. This is due to fact that once PDMS molds are generated, 2D periodic patterns are produced by simple replication of molds. Upon points of view, we combined two effective strategies, and close-packed microlens arrays with defect free and well controlled geometry are fabricated successfully. |
