제목 | Highly selective CO2 conversion using Au wrinkle structure |
초록 | The electrocatalytic conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) into carbon based fuels or valuable chemicals using renewable electricity is promising approach for utilizing the captured CO2 to deal with its adverse effect on global climate change. Among the heterogeneous catalysts, various metals have been found to convert the CO2 in aqueous solution at moderate temperature. However, polycrystalline metal films is insufficient for commercial application in terms of specific activity and selectivity. To achieve the high efficiency and selectivity, various nanostructured catalyst design has been explored. To date, few reports have demonstrated that mass transport limitations in a specific morphology positively affect the selectivity towards CRR. High local pH around electrode surface enhanced the CRR and suppressed the HER. Here we report that nanostructured Au film over the large area by wrinkling process is capable of selective reduction of CO2 at low applied potentials. In addition, we demonstrate the structural effect of wrinkled film. These results show improved selectivity through increasing activity on CRR and dramatic decreasing activity on HER. |
