제목 | Chemical modification of Viscose Rayon to improve flame retardancy-The influence of aluminium borate |
초록 | At present there is growing interest in using cellulose and cellulose-based products for applications in various industries (mainly building and transportation). One of the limitations to use of cellulose is its flammability. The best way to improve the fire performance of cellulose is by chemical treatment with flame retardants. In this study, aluminium borate was coupled onto the surface of modified viscose rayon. The thermal behavior of these modifications are studied through thermogravimetric analysis and flame retardant effects of these modifications have been assessed by measurements of limiting oxygen indices (LOI), and of elemental analysis. Modified viscose rayon aluminium borate showed higher limiting oxygen index (LOI) values. |
