제목 High refractive optical polymers from cyclic thioketals attached acrylate with high sulfur contents
초록 The use of organic materials in optical applications is believed to present a clue to the problem of conventional inorganic and metallic materials. The refractive index (RI) of many organic materials is around 1.5 of which deviation is not high according to structure. Refraction is based on the interaction of electrons in a molecule with the oscillating electronic field of light. Electron-rich atoms such as sulfur, bromine and iodine have been known to induce high RI. High sulfur content and low molar volume are considered in molecule design for high RI and thus cyclic thiol is a reasonable candidate. In the research, various synthetic approaches have been suggested using 1,3-dithiolane for polymer materials.
