New Brushite Bsed Injectable Bone Substitute System with Silicon and Sodium Incorporated Calcium Phosphate |
초록 |
Brushite based injectable bone substitutes (IBS) are widely developed now a day for the enhanced biodegradation and favorable handling properties. In this work we reported a new calcium phosphate composition with silicon and sodium incorporation to impart better biocompatibility and biodegradability. Silicon doping is investigated for improving biocompatibility in calcium phosphate systems. We followed an inexpensive wet chemical rout to synthesis silicon and sodium incorporated Calcium phosphate. The powders were characterized and optimum powder preparation parameters were set to achieve established parameters for using as injectable bone substitutes. Optimum calcinations temperature for the powder was found to be 1200 C. The synthesized powders were mixed with monocalcium phosphate monohydrate (MCPM) for making the powder component. Sodium phosphate and sodium citrate solution was used as the liquid component. To improve the biocompatibilty and control the setting time the synthesized powder was modified with HPMC and MCPM was modified with chitosan. Setting time and injectability was investigated. The microstructure and material properties were evaluated for the set IBS. Detailed biocompatibility was investigated using MC3T3E1 pre-osteoblast cells. Initial invivo results were also presented to investigate the behavior in biological environment. |
