Development of radiation-induced polysaccharide based hydrogel |
초록 |
Polysaccharides such as cellulose, chitin, chitosan and hyaluronic acid have many effects on cell activation. It is well known that cell activation increases with increasing the polysaccharides concentration. In the present study, hydrogels from a mixture of poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP), κ-carrageenan and crushed citrus gel (cCG) were prepared by using gamma-ray irradiation. Mechanical properties such as gel fraction, swelling, gel strength of the hydrogels were measured as a function of the content (wt%) of the cCG and evaluated for an application of a wound dressing. This study suggested that these bio-polysaccharide hydrogels will be one of the most attractive options to be used in wound dressing. |
