Waterborne polyurethane (WPU) has been rapidly used in coating and adhesive but the WPU is deficient in chemical resistance, thermal resistance, and mechanical property compared to solvent based polyurethane. In polymer nanocomposites, fillers have important roles in the modification of polymer properties. The previous research for WPU nanocomposite investigated using Alkyl silane treated ZnO. The mechanical property, adhesive strength of the WPU nanocomposite dispersion incresed with increasing ZnO concentration. In this study, we used WPU nanocomposite using alkyl silane treated TiO2 at various content. The WPU was synthesized from polyester polyol, 4,4-dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (H12MDI), dimethylolpropionic acid (DMPA), triethylamine(TEA), ethylenediamine(EDA) and alkyl silane treated TiO2 of nanosize. Thermal stability and mechanical strength and adhesive strength will be investigated for effect on using TiO2. |
