제목 Single-Step Synthesis of Metal Nanocrystals Embedded Hydrogel Beads and Their Application
초록 Silver (Ag) nanoparticles, because of their good properties, have been applied in many fields. However, since Ag nanoparticles are easily aggregate to minimize their surface areas in solution phase, various methods using hydrogel polymers for support materials were developed for immobilization of Ag nanoparticles. Alginate which is one of biocompatible hydrogel polymers was used in this work because it can be easily crosslinked with cation, and it has ability to cap and stabilize metal nanoparticle. There are a lot of ways to synthesize and immobilize Ag nanoparticles, however, most of them still use a two-step method in which hydrogel polymer is crosslinked first before the Ag precursor is reduced. In this study, an easy one-step method, which crosslinking of alginate hydrogel and synthesizing of Ag nanoparticles occurred at the same time, is introduced. Ag nanocrystals/Alginate beads show excellent catalytic activity and can be easily collected for reuse.
