A highly reusable and efficient Co based sodalite zeolitic imidazolate framework for the chemical fixation of CO2. |
초록 |
Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIF) are a subclass of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOF) which shares many riches of the zeolite chemistry. In this work, a Co based zeolitic imidazolate framework bearing sodalite topology (ZIF-67) is utilized for the chemical fixation of CO2 via cycloaddition with oxiranes yielding five membered cyclic carbonates. High quality ZIF-67 crystals were synthesized spontaneously at room temperature within few minutes using water as the solvent. Also, on comparative purposes, microwave irradiation were used for ZIF-67 synthesis and the catalytic activity of all the synthesized ZIF-67 crystals for CO2-oxirane cycloaddition was carried out under moderate reaction conditions. The ZIF-67 showed appreciable catalytic conversions of various epoxides even at temperatures less than 120 ℃, in 6 h, with excellent selectivity of more than 98%. Moreover, the catalyst showed no significant leaching of the active Co metal ions upon reuse and was reusable for more than 5 times. ZIF-67 thus proved to be a robust and environmentally benign, reusable and easily synthesizable catalyst for an effective chemical fixation of CO2. |
