Electric properties of carbon nanotubes coated PAN nanoparticles |

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) coated PAN nanoparticles were synthesized. PAN nanoparticles were prepared by emulsion polymerization. Nitrile groups on the surface of PAN nanoparticles were modified to amine groups by reacting with Co catalysts. Then, functionalized CNTs (fCNTs) were prepared by the chemical oxidation method. Finally, fCNTs attached nanoparticles were synthesized by covalent bonding between carboxylic acid groups on fCNTs and amine groups on the nanoparticles. Only a simple single step was needed to modify functional groups on PAN nanoparticles for coating. Films were formed with CNT attached nanoparticles by hot pressing. The electric properties (conductivity and electromagnetic interference (EMI)) of films were investigated. |
