제목 Effect of oxy-fluorinated CF on mechanical properties of epoxy composites reinforced with CNT
초록 A fixed amount (3phr) of various types of carbon fiber powder (CFP) was incorporated in an epoxy matrix with carbon nanotube (CNT) to solve the key issues like interfacial adhesion and dispersion of CFP. The surface properties of oxy-fluorinated CFP were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and contact angle analysis. Also, to discuss in detail, the mechanical properties of epoxy composites were evaluated by tensile and impact strength, respectively. The mechanical properties of epoxy composites with oxy-fluorinated CFP and CNT showed ~112%, 35% enhancement in tensile and impact strength compare to those of neat epoxy. These results are ascribed to improved interfacial adhesion between CFP and epoxy resin by increasing surface-polarity due to oxy-fluorination and higher partial pressure of fluorine gas
