제목 Preparation and Physical Properties of Poly(lactic acid)/Montmorillonite Nanocomposites Compatibilized with Poly(ε-caprolactone)
초록 This study investigates the physical properties of nanocomposites prepared from poly(lactic acid) (PLA), montmorillonite (MMT) and poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) by melt compounding with a twin screw extruder. In order to improve the dispersion of MMT in the polymer composites, master batch of PCL / MMT is melt-mixed and applied to PLA nanocomposites. From the results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements for nanocomposites, we confirm that MMT are exfoliated. Mechanical properties of nanocomposites have been evaluated by universal testing machine (UTM). The addition of PCL increases the tensile strength and elongation of PLA / MMT nanocomposites but decreases the modulus. The thermal stability of nanocomposites is investigated by thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). From the results, the thermal stabilities of PLA / MMT nanocomposites decrease with the addition of PCL.
