제목 Formulation of Cellular Micropatterns on Nanoporous Aluminum Oxide Membrane using Poly(ethylene glycol) Wells
초록 In this study, cellular micropatterns were created on AAO membranes using PEG hydrogel wells for applications in cell-based biosensor. Most remarkable advantages of this technique are that it is based entirely on standard lithography process, and uses biocompatible AAO which as the substrate. The micropatterns were defined by PEG wells which are hydrophilic and thereby directing the cells to AAO region. It has long been known that substrate topography can affect cell morphology and behavior and the nanoporous nature of AAO can provide the nanotopological effect on the cells. Moreover, by confining the cells within a fixed region and thereby limiting the number of cells per quota, individual cell activity can be studied as well as their interactions with each others. PEG well formulation was confirmed using a SEM, biocompatibility was assessed using a fluorescence live/dead assay, and the number of confined cells was determined by the size of the PEG wells which was confirmed by MTT.
