제목 Synthesis and Property Analysis of Various Catalysts Based on Nickel Oxide for Water-Gas Shift Reaction
초록 H2 gas, the fuel for a fuel cell, is synthesized by fuel reforming process from simple carbohydrate or alcohol. Carbon monoxide forms during this process and it needs to be completely converted because it poisons the platinum electrodes. Thus, Water-Gas Shift (WGS) reaction is needed and it is represented following as a reaction equation. [CO + H2O (g) → CO2 (g) + H2 (g)]. Nickel based catalysts have been attracted considerable attention as an alternative catalyst because of the high activities of CO oxidation. Unfortunately, they are also effective catalysts for methanation reaction (CO + 3H2 → CH4 + H2O), which leads to lower the efficiency of hydrogen production. Therefore, it is essential to prevent from methanation reaction and to acquire high selectivity toward CO oxidation reaction. Promoted highly ordered mesoporous materials and composite materials with Ia3d mesoporous structure were prepared through nano replication method using KIT-6. This research involved the characterization of synthesized materials using XRD, N2 sorption and electron microscopy and measurement of catalytic activity for Water-Gas Shift (WGS) reaction.
