Chitosan derivatives conjugated with catechol via enzymatic oxidation for high performance tissue adhesives |
초록 |
Tissue adhesives have been widely used and hold great potential in the wide range of surgical treatments. It is highly desirable to have strong adhesion force to tissue and biocompatibility for tissue adhesive. In this study, we synthesized a serious of chitosan derivatives conjugated with catechol via enzymatic oxidation and further different oxidation conditions (pH, oxidant concentration). Our methods resulted in strong adhesion to a tissue as well as suitable mechanical property. The physico-chemical properties and lap shear strength were examined. Enzymatically modified chitosan matrices are expected to be a promising candidate material for surgical operations and therapies. |
