Preparation of Superhydrophobic Poly(styrene-co-butadiene) Membrane via Electrospinning |

We prepared the non-woven membranes of poly(styrene-co-butadiene) fibers via electrospinning with the tetrahydrofuran(THF)/dimethylformamide(DMF) mixed solvent, and investigated the effect of the copolymer composition on the superhydrophobicity of the membranes. We compared the characteristics of two kinds of poly(styrene-co-butadiene) of different compositions(butadiene = 4 wt% and 55 wt%) with polystyrene homopolymer. The addition of polybutadiene changed the morphology of the membrane surface and hydrophobicity. The morphology of the electrospun membranes was examined by FE-SEM and hydrophobicity was estimated by the water contact angles on the membranes. Internal structures of the membranes were analyzed by TEM. |
