제목 High Quality Organic Single Crystalline Thin Films for Nonlinear Optical Applications
초록 New series of nonlinear optical crystals based on configurationally locked polyene (CLP) are developed and the growth of single crystalline thin films by melt-based techniques is demonstrated. The chromophores consist of -conjugated hexatriene bridge between dialkylamino or methoxy electron donors and dicyanomethylidene electron acceptor. The physical and nonlinear optical properties, and the single crystal X-ray structures of these chromophores are characterized. The chromophore DAT2 exhibits a noncentrosymmetric crystalline arrangement (monoclinic, P21) and shows a large macroscopic nonlinearity. We demonstrate the growth of single crystals of DAT2 by a Bridgman-type melt growth technique and vapor growth technique. The grown single crystalline DAT2 films exhibit good optical quality and suitable size for fabrication of photonic devices. We also investigated crystal engineering of CLP crystals by co-crystallization and tailor-made auxiliaries.
