The precipitation method for fabrication micro-particle is based on the solubility difference of a polymer at two different solvents. We successfully fabricated poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (p(NIPAM)) particle using the precipitation method. After dissolving p(NIPAM) in acetone, tetrahydrofuran, chloroform, ethyl acetate respectively and then adding toluene as a anti-solvent, allows the formation of particle. Here we investigated the size and morphology of particles by the influence of solvents and temperatures. After fabrication of micro-particle, we selected tetrahydrofuran as solvent and further investigated dye loading and release efficiency before drug delivery test. Shape and size of particles were analyzed by dynamic light scattering and scanning electron microscope measurements. Dye loading and release were analyzed by UV-vis spectrophotometer. |
