In this work, 5-(3'-(9-carbazolyl)-[1,1'-biphenyl]-3-yl)pyrido[3,2-b]indole (CzBPDCb) was developed as a host material of blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. The CzBPDCb with the δ-carboline showed better electron transport properties than the host with δ-carboline, which lead to reduced driving voltage and high power efficiency in blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. The highest occupied molecular orbital and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy levels of CzBPDCb are -6.23eV and -2.73eV, respectively. The triplet energy of CzBPDCb can be assumed to be 2.95eV and iridium (III) bis((3,5-difluorophenyl)pyridine)picolinate (FIrpic) was used as a blue triplet emitter. A maximum quantum efficiency of CzBPDCb device is 25.3% and the color coordinate of the device is (0.14, 0.28) at 1000 cd/m2. |
