Semitransparent and flexible organic solar cells require transparent electrodes on both the bottom and the top side. We have fabricated inverted semitransparent organic solar cells consisting of PEDOT:PSS/PEIE/P3HT:PCBM/WO3/Ag/WO3(WAW). In the cell, an inner WO3 thin layer between the active layer and the Ag layer was used to improve hole collection, while an outer WO3 thin layer was used to enhance optical transmittance. Maximum PCE of 2.3% was obtained in the constructed cell in which the WAW electrode had a high transmittance of 84.3% and a low sheet resistance of approximately 7.5 ohm/sq. It can be concluded that the bottom and top sides of the double-sided PCE exhibited similar values of 2.3% and 2.26%, respectively, which is caused to the low sheet resistance of the WAW electrode. We have investigated the physical effects of the low sheet resistance on the performance of the inverted organic solar cell through the measurements of impedance spectroscopy. |
