Synthesis of nanomaterials has received a great attention in the IT and BT fields during the past years. Nanomaterials become interesting and important substances in the fields for fundamental study and applied science because of their unique optical properties and wetting behaviors. Poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) is water-soluble polymer and biocompatible polymer for many application fields such as biomedical field. In thos respect, it is expected that functionalized PEOs including PEO-based block copolymers can effect an important role to bring the advances of the BT field. For example, gold and silver nanoparticle can be synthesized by using the functionalized PEO. In this communication we report the results for preparation of water-soluble nanoparticles using w-functionalized poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO) as a polymeric sulfactant by the sol-gel process. |
