Helical polymers have attracted many attentions due to their high structural stability, chiral irritability, and ordered molecular alignment in the solid phase. Because of their rigid secondary structure, self-assembling behaviours of helical-coil block copolymers are quite different from that of coil-coil block copolymers. There have been several attempts to synthesize helical-coil block copolymers using anionic polymerization, but, they are quite limited. One possibility in preparing block copolymer is using click chemistry, but end-functionalization of helical polymers is very difficult. In this study, we reports preparation of polyisocyanide with alkyne end group. An arylnickel(II) catalyst with alkyne group was synthesized and used in the polymerization of 4-methoxy phenyl isocyanide. |
