Conducting polypyrrole soluble in common organic solvents was synthesized by oxidative polymerization. In the synthesis, dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (DBSA) and di(2-ethylhexylsulfosuccinate) sodium salt, (DEHSNa) were used as functional dopants. Room temperature electrical conductivities of free standing films were in the range of 10-3 ~ 5 S/cm. Transport properties was investigated by measurement of temperature dependence of conductivity in the range of 300 K to 10 K. Magnetic properties (magnetic susceptibility, spin concentration, density of state etc.) of soluble polypyrrole were examined by electron spin resonance (ESR) and SQUID magnetometer measurement. From these results, the variation of localization length and conductivity on synthetic conditions will be reported. |
