We report our recent progress in developing flexible and stretchable brain-inspired artificial syanpses using organic nanowires. Important working principles of a biological synapse have emulated, such as excitatory post-synaptic current (EPSC), inhibitory post-synaptic current (IPSC), paired-pulse facilitation (PPF), short-term plasticity (STP), long-term plasticity (LTP) and spike-timing dependent plasticity (STDP). Stretchable electrichemical synaptic transistors with nano-feature size are produced based on aligned organic semiconducting nanowires and ion-gel dielectric on the elastic substrate, which retain 100% strain without degradation of electrical properties and synaptic responses. These results are promising for brain-inspired computation, memory and neuro-inspired electronics would surve as building blocks of future neuromorphic systems. |
