제목 A Study on the Structure of mono- and di-Alkylamine Intercalated into Layered α-Zirconium Phosphate
초록 Highly-functionalized inorganic layered material, α-zirconium phosphate (α-Zrp) was prepared to study structural difference between intercalated mono-alkylamine and di-alkylamine. Because the density of negative charge, cationic exchange capacity (CEC), on the layer surface of synthetic α-Zrp was higher than that of other layered materials such as montmorillonite (MMT), intercalated alkylamines adopted stretched trans-conformations. Thus its characteristic structures in α-Zrp interlayer (i.e., monolayer or bilayer) were clearly obtained by monitoring Zrp interlayer spacing using XRD.
As intercalated amount of mono-alkylamine whose one endfunctional amine was tethered onto Zrp surface increases, its interlayer structure was changed from monolayer to bilayer. On the other hand, intercalated di-alkylamine with two endfunctional amine on its both chain end was found to form only monolayer, which indicates that its two endfuctional amines were tethered onto both sides of α-Zrp layer preventing formation of bilayer structure.
