Facile construction of ZnIn2S4-rGO-CuInS2 ternary heterojunction catalyst for efficient visible active photocatalytic hydrogen evolution |

The photocatalytic hydrogen evolution is one of the promising approaches to generate hydrogen for cost-effective hydrogen fuel and ecofriendly. In this work, ternary catalyst ZnIn2S4-rGO-CuInS2 prepared by an ultrasonication method for optimized photocatalytic hydrogen generation in Na2S/Na2SO3-water mixture. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by various surface analytical optical techniques. Analysis of FE-SEM and HR-TEM images reveals that marigold like the structure of ZnIn2S4, and layered structure CuInS2 are dispersed in reduced graphene oxide sheets. The enhanced hydrogen performance of the ZnIn2S4-rGO-CuInS2 catalyst originates from the synergetic effect of rGO as the electron transfer medium, which supported by photocurrent density The cyclic stability demonstrates an excellent performance of the ZnIn2S4-rGO-CuInS2 catalyst up to three consecutive cycles under visible light illumination. |
