Substrate Temperature Dependence of Flow Dynamics inside the Evaporating Droplet |

The controlling of the solute assembly in final deposit pattern is important to enhance the functionality of the pattern for the ink-jet printing technology. It is well known that the final deposit pattern resulted from the evaporation of droplet is significantly affected by the solute transport along the flow field during the evaporation. In this study, the effects of substrate temperature on the flow dynamics inside evaporating droplet are investigated by using the laser absorbance monitoring system. The experimental results were compared with the calculation results obtained from the assumption that there is no flow inside evaporating droplet. The time variations of solute concentrations at the center of droplets are discussed as a function of substrate temperature. The substrate temperature dependence of the flow dynamics is explained by the competition between convective flow and Marangoni flow inside the evaporating droplet. |
