For anode catalysts of direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs), Platinum-polydopamine modified on reduced graphene oxides (Pt-PDA-rGO) was prepared via a new chemical reduction process in solution. dopamine has been found to be able to self-polymerize under alkaline conditions and the generated polydopamine can strongly cling to a variety of organic or inorganic materials. Platinum (Pt) nanoparticles (NPs) were supported on polydopamine(PDA) modified reduced graphene oxide (rGO). Electrochemical properties of the catalysts were compared by measuring cyclic voltammetry (CV) and morphology and crystallinity of the as-synthesized samples were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR), average sizes and lattice parameters were measured by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Pt-PDA-rGO composite have high electrochemical performance in comparison with existing Pt-RGO composite. |
