According to the trend of wirelessization of advanced devices, there is a continuous demand for high energy storage devices. As lithium-ion batteries, which are widely used, show near-theoretical capacity, research on next-generation battery system is steadily underway. Lithium-Sulfur batteries have attracted attention as promising next-generation battery because of high theoretical capacity and low price of sulfur. However, the polysulfides produced by the electrochemical reaction of sulfur are dissolved in the ether electrolyte. This phenomenon is called ‘polysulfide shuttle effect’ and a lot of research was conducted to overcome this phenomenon. In this study, two types of carbon paper with different electrolyte-permeability were prepared and their performances were compared when used as interlayer. The effect of electrolyte-permeability on the performance of Li-S battery was analyzed through electrochemical analysis. |
