ZnO microparticles showing uniform morphology synthesized via self-assembly processes. Visible-light responsibility obtained by introducing CdS shell on the ZnO cores Hydrogen production rate varied with molar ratio of precursor under visible light. Heat treatment performed to further improve photocatalytic activity under two temperature conditions. Higher temperature decreased surface area of catalysts greatly, which resulted into decline of hydrogen production rate. Low temperature condition, however, showed proper drop of surface area and increased hydrogen production rate. In total, by taking advantage of proper heat treatment, the photocatalytic activity advanced because of development of crystallinity. XRD, SEM and TEM were used to analyze crystal structure and morphology of catalysts. Chemical state of each elements obtained through XPS. |
