We investigate morphological structures of block copolymer under various external conditions. In the first part of talk, the effects of shear, electric field, temperature gradient, solvent annealing, and patterned surface on block copolymer systems are presented, particularly focusing on the global orientation and defect remedy of the ordered structures. The second part of the talk is concerned with the morphological modulation of block copolymers confined in pore of various geometries such as cylinder and tetragonal pillar. To investigate how these external conditions affect the block copolymer morphology in a systematic way, both the density functional and the field-theoretic simulations are used. The simulations of block copolymer mesophases under each of external perturbations (shear, electric field, temperature gradient, solvent annealing, patterned surface, and confinement) unveil the detailed mechanism of the mesophase reformation in response to the external perturbations. |
