Well-defined, monodispersed ZnO hollow nanoparticles with controlled porous were successfully synthesized by a facile two step solution method at room temperature. ZnO hollow nanoparticles were fabricated using polystyrene nanoparticles as seed particles were demonstrated. ZnO hollow nanoparticles were formed by removing polystyrene nanoparticles at room temperature with toluene. The structures and morphologies of obtained products were characterized with Attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR), Thermogravimeric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), Scaning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and photoluminescence (PL). The formation mechanism of ZnO hollow structure was also investigated. This technique is expected to be useful to prepare other metal oxides or hollow architectures. |
