Li4Ti5O12, also reported as Li1.333Ti1.667O4, is a promising anode material for rechargeable lithium ion batteries. It has good advantages such as good structural stability with almost negligible volume change in the charge/discharge process, which may enable Li4Ti5O12 electrode to have excellent Li+ insertion and extraction reversibility. However, as an insulator, it has extremely low rate capacity resulting from poor electronic conductivity has hindered the practical use of Li4Ti5O12. To improve the conductivities, nano-sized doped Li4Ti5O12 in Li, Ti or O sites was by sol-gel method according to amount of doping material. To confirm formation of structure, we measured physical properties as XRD, ICP, SEM and electrochemical characteristics were performed by charge-discharge, cycle performance, rate capability and cyclic voltammetry in the range of 1.0-2.6 V. |
