A series of waterborne polyurethane(WPU) were synthesized from polycaprolactone diol(PCL), 4,4'-Methylene dicyclohexyl diisocyanate(H12MDI), dimethylol butanoic acid(DMBA) and 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA) with the addition of graphene oxide(GO). WPU/AC hybrid emulsions were prepared by the emulsion polymerization of a mixture of AC monomers (methylmethacrylate/n-butyl acrylate and c-(methacryloxy) propyltrimethoxy silane) with different acrylic contents [0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 wt % based WPU] in the presence of WPU dispersion without external surfactant. The structure, thermal and mechanical properties of the WPU have been investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA), differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) and universal testing machine(UTM). Particle size, young’s modulus, glass transition temperature and thermal stability of the WPU/AC hybrid increased with increasing acrylic contents. |
