Synthesis and Characterization of Poly[ether-b-(urea-amide)] Containing Polyamide12(PA12) Segments |

Poly(γ-BLG)-(PA12)-Poly(γ-BLG), a A-B-A type triblock copolymer was synthesized by reaction between γ-benzyl-L-glutamate-NCA(γ-BLG) and NH2 end-capped polyamide12(PA12) oligomer. The chemical structure of the triblock copolymer was identified by using FT-IR and 1H-NMR. Poly[ether-b-(urea-amide)] block copolymer was obtained with the triblock copolymer and NCO-terminated polyether prepared by reaction isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI) to poly(tetramethylene glycol)(PTMG). The final block copolymers have relatively low melting point and high modulus, and showed typical properties of thermoplastic elastomers. |
