Recently increasing attention has been focused on solid lipid nanoparticle (SLN) as a parenteral drug carrier due to its numerous on advantages that can come from both polymeric particle and fat emulsion, together with the possibility of controlled release and increasing drug stability. Lipophilic drugs such as retinol have been easily entrapped in SLN but the incorporation of hydrophilic drugs such as rosmarinic acid in SLN is very limited because of very low affinity to the lipid. Therefor as a new approach to improve the loading efficiency, W/O/W emulsion has been developed. This study is to improve the loading efficiency of a model hydrophilic drug, rosmarinic acid into SLN. |
