Ethylcellulose microcapsules containing chitosan/gelatin were prepared by spray drying water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion. Before the preparation of microcapsules, the electrostatic interaction of chitosan and gelatin was investigatied with varying the pH. In order to prepare W/O emulsions, variable rations of chitosan/gelatin solution in distilled water was used as an aqueous phase. Ethylcellulose solution in dichloromethane was used as an oil phase. The emulsion was spray-dried around 150℃. The microcapsules were characterized morphology, loading efficiency, size, release property. The pH-dependent release test of microcapsule was observed in pH 3,5,6,7,9 using FITC-dextran as a model drug. |
