The effects of sulfur treatment on catalytic stability of K/Fe-Cu-Mn-Al catalysts has been investigated with varying S/(S+K) ratio in Fischer–Tropsch (FT) synthesis. The (K, S)/Fe-Cu-Mn-Al catalysts were prepared by the co-precipitation of Fe-Cu-Mn-Al precursors, followed by sulfur and potassium impregnation. The FT reactions using (K, S)/Fe-Cu-Mn-Al with various S/(S+K) ratios were performed in a fixed bed reactor. The CO conversion decreased as increasing S/(S+K) ratio. At low S/(S+K) ratio, the CO conversion showed no significant decrease as compared with K/Fe-Cu-Mn-Al catalyst and the catalytic stability was significantly improved by sulfur treatment. Overall, low S/(S+K) ratio was effective to improve the catalytic stability of K/Fe-Cu-Mn-Al catalysts. |
