제목 | Environmentally friend process for paracetamol |
초록 | Paracetamol, N-acetyl-para-aminophenol, is a common analgesic for headache or other minor pains. Since it was first introduced to the pharmacological market as a prescribed analgesics and antipyretic drug for children in 1950s, more than 600 different over-the-counter and prescription medicines containing paracetamol have been distributed worldwide. Despite of its prevalent use, the production of paracetamol is not much deviated from the original synthetic route where para-aminophenol is synthesized as a key intermediate. In order to overcome the chronic drawbacks of the conventional synthetic method for paracetamol including harsh reaction conditions and chemo-and region- selectivity issues, an environmentally friend and regioselective synthetic procedure has been developed from halobenzenes via the metal catalyzed amidation reaction and the followed hydroxylation reaction. |
