제목 | Active protection of electroactive biofilm increase product production and energy efficiency in microbial electrosynthesis system |
초록 | Electrodes-drivenbiologic electron transfer has the potential to convert CO2 into muti-carbonchemicals via microbial electrosynthesis (MES). The electron transfer is mainlyachieved by the redox reaction between microbial and electrode surfaces. Inthis process, the biofilm on the electrode surface plays an important role. In this study, we developed a safe-housecarbon felt electrode to actively protect biofilm formation in MES and observeddense biofilm on the unmodified electrode surface for the first time from mixedinocula for MES. The dense biofilm improves the electron recovery efficiency ofthe MES. Through further protection of the biofilm formation, thatsignificantly increases 80% acetate production and simultaneously significantlyincreases 34% energy efficiency on average. Among thebiofilm on the safe-house carbon felt electrode, acetogenic and biofilm-formingbacteria have significantly higher abundance and diversity than carbon feltelectrodes. |
