Research on the use a coral as bone substitutes with surface film coating |
초록 |
Dramatic advances in life science enables the provision of tissue alternatives for patients suffering from tissue damages. Bone tissue, in particular, is one of the most important histological components that modulate the life quality of human beings. This investigation reports the feasibility of naturally derived coral as bone tissue alternatives. The surface of the coralline scaffolds were modified using various polymeric substances to improve their biocompatibility and bio-stability. The morphological and biological characteristics were analyzed using various analytical means and cell assays. Our results demonstrate that the current surface modification improved the biocompatibility of the coralline scaffolds. |
