The lithium recovery system was prepared using lithium manganese oxide (LMO)/carbon electrodes with electrostatic field assistance and its effect on the lithium selectivity was investigated in an artificially manufactured solution containing Li+, Na+, K+, Ca2+, and Mg2+ ions. Relatively higher Li+ selectivity was observed even the concentration of coexisting ion was high up to 10 times in molar ratio. The system also showed a good reproducibility in the repeated adsorption/desorption cycles without manganese dissolution from the LMO framework, which can occur in the conventional desorption process using the acidic solution to recover the lithium ion from LMO, and no morphological changes from the LMO electrode was observed during the recovery process. |
