Recently, nanofibrous membrane prepared by electrospinning has been widely investigated in tissue engineering field due to its three-dimensional structure like the natural extracellular matrix (ECM). Thus, electrospun nanofibers are expected to be utilized for the effective wound treatment. In this work, we successfully prepared the nanofibrous patch including gelatin and hyaluronic acid via electrospinning and functionalized with catechol group. The successful formation of patch was confirmed by NMR, UV-vis spectrum and FTIR analysis. In addition, enhanced physicochemical properties and improved cell activity is confirmed as the content of catechol groups increases. Moreover, animal experiment confirmed that our nanofiber patch can accelerate wound healing as well as hemostasis compared to the untreated group. Taken together, the catechol-functionalized nanofiber patch is expected to be exploited for various tissue engineering application. |
