제목 | Microsphere-Based Sustained Anti-VEGF Drugs for the Inhibition of Subfoveal Choroidal Neovascularization |
초록 | Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is known to play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of the the wet type of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). In this study, we confirmed the treatment ability of AMD, a disease which is caused by vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling system, by using the PLGA(lactic-co-glycolic acid) sustained release of microspheres. Rivoceranib, a therapeutic intervention for AMD, was encapsulated through o/w single emulsion and solvent evaporation method with polymeric excipients PLGA. In vivo study, the treatment of microspheres of PLGA/rivoceranib significantly inhibits the occurrence and spread of new blood vessels in the macular degeneration model and the rivoceranib microsphere achieved sustained in vitro drug release for 50 days. |
