Synthesis and Characterization of Chitosan-b-PCL Copolymer for Drug Delivery |

In this study, we synthesized ampiphilic copolymer consist of chitosan and PCL for anticancer drug delivery. The chitosan-b-PCL block copolymer was synthesized by radical polymerization. Firstly, chitosan as a hydrophilic moiety was dissolved in distilled water. Then, initiator agent was added in chitosan solution and reacted for 1hr at 60℃. Continuously, synthesized PCL-macromer with PCL and acryloyl chloride was slowly added in the reactant and stirred for 6hr at 60℃. The reactant was precipitated by acetone and harvested vacuum dry. The characterization of chitosan-b-PCL block copolymer was analyzed by 1H NMR, FT-IR, DLS and TEM. These results suggest that ampiphilic copolymer was able to apply as drug carrier.
