제목 Application of Silk Fibroin Microparticle as Cell Carrier
초록 The silk fibroin (SF) is a major silk protein and has multiple biological functionalities like biocompatibility, biodegradability for biomedical application. Therefore, SF comes in all shapes like suture, micro- or nanoparticle, sponge, film and nanomat to be applied to drug delivery or tissue engineering. Especially, the microparticle has many advantages in that it can be injected to body through oral, skin, mucous, eye and etc. depending on its size. In our research, we prepared micro-sized SF microparticles by electrohydrodynamic (EHD) spraying with 1M lithium chloride/dimethyl sulfoxide solvent. After that, we tried to cultivate fibroblast on SF microparticles and confirmed cell compatibility. We expect that SF microparticles can be used as cell carrier and can be applied to tissue engineering.
