Relationship between ketones and iodide concentrations on CH3I formation under gamma irradiation |
초록 |
The I2 can react with organic materials such as MIBK and MEK, and form volatile organic iodides such as CH3I under gamma irradiation condition. Since the I2 formation mainly depends on the solution pH under gamma irradiation, the solution pH is one of the important factors for understanding on the formation of CH3I. In this study, we investigated various factors affecting on the formation of CH3I. It was found that the formation of CH3I is generally enhanced as the concentrations of source materials (ketones and iodide) and gamma dose increase as long as the pH is staying less than 6.4. |
